Life is about CHOICES...

Make the right CHOICE...

Who are we and what do we do?

Since 1896, Ironworkers have been doing more than you realize. We build the bridges you drive on, the offices you work in, the schools your children attend, and the stadiums in which you cheer. And we do it every day. Make sure you have a few spare minutes if you ask an ironworker: "What did you do today?"

Recently, I have been reaching out to members in the same manner as I have long reached out to the elected officials from our local union affiliates.

The feedback from many of the members is positive, as I highlight upcoming projects, meetings that we should consider attending, newspaper stories, and issues that affect our organization, etc.

We also highlight political issues, BUT, ONLY TO THE EXTENT OF HOW THEY AFFECT OUR LIVELIHOOD. The intention is not to brainwash you into voting for people you may not like; but to point out how various candidates perceive Organized Labor, and why voting FOR certain candidates may not be in your best interests insofar as working as a union iron worker.

If you wish to be added to the list, please follow the directions below and your name will be added. Thanks for your consideration. The more members I can reach with one keystroke, the more knowledgeable we become as an organization.          JH

LMCT Safety Department holds another OSHA 30 class...

Recently, the LMCT Safety Department held another in an ongoing series of OSHA 30 classes. Many members who may be out of work due to the poor economy have taken advantage of this time off by upgrading their certifications from OSHA 10 to OSHA 30. It is three ten-hour days of intensive training but it is time well spent, and we commend them for their pro-active approach to this important training. Thanks also to Steve Nee from OSHA for assisting the LMCT Safety Dept. in this matter...
