Lets do it for Larry!!!

John Evans, Mike Durant, and Local 7 need your help in Maine...John no longer has our dear friend, the late Larry Carr, to round up a huge crowd. Notwithstanding, he needs your attendance at an important meeting...LETS DO IT FOR LARRY! Please take the time to attend this important event...

What: A Labor Lobby Day at the State Capital sponsored by the Maine AFL-CIO

Who: Contact John Evans to RSVP... cell number 207-314-3530 as breakfast and lunch will be provided.

When:  Thursday, March 26th at 8:15 a.m. in the cafeteria of the Cross Building; then over to the State House floor.

Why: John is looking for any and all members (and family members) WHO LIVE IN MAINE to take part in this all-day activity. It will provide them the chance to speak directly with their State Representatives on the following subject:

LD 849- An Act To Clarify the Application of the Public Works Minimum Wage Laws

This bill is vital to the future of Maine iron workers as, if passed, it would make public schools fall under Public Works and under
Posted State Wage Rates where they rightfully belong.
Please make ever effort to attend on March 26th. Thank you.

It is Jimmy's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This is particularly fitting given our long-standing interaction with this great organization and the recent publicity highlighting this relationship. Thank you for you consideration...

From LU7 BA/IA John Evans in Maine...

Kevin Miller, a  Local 7 member  from Maine, sent this to me this morning. A few of the guys on the Bath job for CCB made this and sent it up on one of the beams making up an end wall of the building...

For those who did not know the late Larry Carr, he poured his heart and soul into Local 496 (former LU President) and ironworking in Maine. This is a fitting tribute...
