Rally to expose Catholic Medical Center's egregious construction policies...

Thanks to Local 7's Dave Paquette for pictures of an Building Trades rally at the Catholic Medical Center to protest the policies they espouse. Hospitals must stop accepting prices that reflect workers having to work without health insurance coverage. If hospitals aren't going to monitor and force contractors to PROVIDE (not offer, as the low wages they pay preclude workers from purchasing) health insurance, then how do they expect anyone else to do so? They must lead by example and stop cutting out these benefits that are vital to society. Thanks to all the members who took the time to show up...

National Training Fund CERTIFIES Local 7's Apprentice Program for five years...

As first reported on February 28th, a recent meeting and evaluation process took place at Local 7 where Frank Piccione and Ron Redman (on behalf of the National Training Fund) spent time with labor and management representatives and training director Neal McKelligan to review each phase of their program.

We are happy to report that Neal was just informed that Local 7's program has received the maximum Five (5) Year Accreditation. This is testimony to a lot of hard work by a lot of talented and diligent instructors, trustees, and JAC employees...

Local 7's Neal McKelligan just announced the next round of POST TENSIONING classes

Classes will be held on five consecutive Saturdays - March 31st - April 7th - April 14th - April 21st & April 28th.

Classes will run from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
It is a Forty (40) Hour Course!

You must post $20 to attend the classes. If you complete the course, the $20 will go towards your testing certification. YOU MUST MAKE ALL FIVE CLASSES, so be mindful of that fact before signing up and paying your registration fee.
