Thank you to Mike Ruggieri and Greg Mancini...

Marsh River Steel

Michael Ruggieri is president of the Rhode Island Building Trades and business manager of Iron Workers Local No. 37; Gregory Mancini is executive director - general counsel of BuildRI. The Providence Journal printed Mike and Greg's combined thoughts on Sunday July 2nd:

All of the consistent negative attention and public debate about the demise and baleful influence of labor unions has completely overlooked one shining local success story: the Rhode Island building trades -- a record of achievement that could not have occurred at a more important time for the construction industry and our economy.

Six years ago, realizing the importance of a productive relationship with management, the trades formed the BuildRI labor-management partnership with their contractors. The BuildRI partnership has produced an impressive list of all-union projects and positioned it well for the challenges ahead....

Ironmen Motorcycle Club Runs 2006

IMC VP
Arny Krane checked in with the following info: In May of 1986 Brother Charley Clifford formed a motorcycle club for Local 7 members to ride together and share our commonalties. He also started a chapter in Worcester (Local 57) and would like to start one in Providence, R.I. (Local 37). The Ironmen Motorcycle Club is the oldest Union motorcycle club in the U.S.A. All profits from dues, T- shirts, patches, Do Rags, etc., are donated to Dana Farber Hospital for cancer research.

ARNY's E-Mail also said the following:

Hi Jay,

Hope all is going well at your end. I am sending you dates of our upcoming rides for 2006 with the Kimberly Ferrara run being our highlight. Just a reminder that July 7, 8th & 9th, is the New York run with many of our Local #7 members going; there is still room for more! We expect a warm welcome and a great weekend.
