protesting
conditions
at new
Hilton Garden Inn
in Portsmouth, NH... |
Local 474 members
as well as a number of
sheetmetal workers, plumbers, laborers, painters, & operating
engineers participated in a protest sponsored by the carpenters
union in Portsmouth, NH. Hundreds
of area workers showed up to voice their concern
and displeasure in
front of the Hilton Garden Inn, which is currently under
construction, alleging workers have been illegally misclassified and
mistreated by employers wanting to reduce tax and insurance costs to
enhance the employer's profits.
